Welcome to SteadyBoy Records, representing the best in Texas music. SteadyBoy is the power pop, rock and roll, high lonesome neon country soul home of music made and discovered by Texas Music Hall of Famer, Freddie Steady Krc (rhymes with search).

Freddie Steady has been making music of all kinds for thirty years, so it only made sense for the journeyman drummer, guitarist, singer, and all-around artist to create his own musical home. Label management and ownership was Freddie’s final frontier, a business venture rooted in a musical passion that began when the magic of television brought the Beatles into his Southeast Texas living room in 1964.

The SteadyBoy Records label was formed in 2002 when Freddie regained ownership of recordings he made under several of his widely varied incarnations. SteadyBoy is proud to represent these projects from the past right alongside the best of Texas rock and roll from 2007.

Here’s a snapshot of SteadyBoy releases for 2007:

The Explosives-KaBOOM! (SB-0018)
Release date: April 10, 2007

Due to enormous interest in the recordings of Krc’s late seventies, early eighties Power Pop group, the first Explosives CD release music is a 2-CD set of those early years. The Explosives are still rocking in 2007, Ka-BOOM! represents the Big Bang that got them started.

Freddie Steady’s Wild Country-Lucky 7 (SB-0017)
Release date: April 10, 2007

Living in London in 1986 made Freddie Steady lonesome for the roots country of his native Texas, and this country album is the real deal, no cookie cutter Nashville stuff. It rocks. The CD reissue boasts the complete original album plus four bonus tracks.

Jenny Wolfe and the Pack (SB-0019)
Release date: April 10, 2007
www.myspace.com/jennywolfeandthepack

In the Summer of 2006, Freddie was asked to record a teenage Power Pop group he had been teaching at a local Rock & Roll Music School. He knew he could get a good recording of these kids, but the finished product came out even better than he had imagined. Krc has been managing and mentoring the Pack, and is proudly sharing the bill with them at many of his Freddie Steady 5 gigs. The teenaged Jenny also sits in with the FS5 whenever possible, and her voice will knock you out.

The Freddie Steady 5-Tex Pop (SB-0021)
Release date: June 12, 2007
www.myspace.com/freddiesteady

The Freddie Steady 5 is back! Tex Pop is just that—a powerful package of jangly, Beatlesque pop with a Texas touch. This is the second full-length album from Freddie Steady’s vehicle for the kind of real rock and roll that had first captured his imagination as a kid. You’ll hear the spirit of the Beatles and the Sir Douglas Quintet throughout Tex Pop, just as you’ll hear the welcomed return of Freddie’s best pal and musical collaborator, Cam King, whose fiery guitar work, co-production, and co-writing help fuel the 5 to new rock and roll heights.

Stay tuned for more new releases and reissues from this new and exciting family style co-op label!
